We're excited about the four new fragrances we have for the Spring and Summer. We're just finishing the candle burn testing and they have done well. All four will be available in Candles and Beanie Melts within the next couple of weeks so check the order forms regularly for availability. The four fragrances are: Satin Citrus - a juicy blend of Sicilian Lemon, sweet tangelo, and oleander blossoms trickled with amber and sandlewood; Bergamot & Basil - Juicy bergamot, herbal basil, and coriander accented with gentle notes of clove, nutmeg, and tea leaves; Island Passion - Palm and sea grass sweetend with tropical nectars of mango, guava, kiwi,and passion fruit; and Citrus Sangria - Blood orange and sparkling cassis blended with sugary sangria and white jasmine petals.

We have all of the our traditional Spring and Summer fragrances poured and ready. They include: Apricot Honey, Cherry Blossom, Citrus & Currant, Grapefruit Vanilla, Honeydew Melon, Macintosh Peach, Orange Vanilla, Pina Colada, Sage & Citrus, Summer Sorbet, Star Fruit, Tangerine Blossom, and Tropical Lime. We've also renamed Tangelo Tea to Clementine & Ginger which is closer to the actual fragrance and have change the color of Romance to a light green which is closer to the Cucumber and Melon fragrance.

Autumn Spice, Holiday Traditions,and Home Sweet Home are now available and Orange Evergreen should be available within a week or so. We also have a new three layered candle called Holiday & Spice - Creme Brulee, Spiced Raisin, and Simmering Spice. I'll have descriptions of the new fragrances posted ASAP and a picture of the new layered candle: it's basically brown, red, cream.

We are excited about our new wood wicked candles that are now ready to go in a new 17 oz jar and label in the following fragrances: Cinamon Vanilla, Cranberry Woods, Frosted Pine Boughs, Harvest Spice, Home Sweet Home, Mandarin Cinneberry, and Spiced Raisin. Ashman Candles has taken a few of the most popular fall and winter fragrances, a new jar, soy wax, and the crackling sound of a natural wood wick and created another unique candle experience.

Also, there are some new beanie melt warmers available: brown or cream square tuscan style, a jack o' lantern, and a snowman. The tuscan ones are very stylish and the other two are great for holiday decorating. Doesn't this cooler weather (finally) put you in the mood for some holiday fragrances?

How to enjoy candle fragrance in this heat!

It's time for my summer reminder that you can enjoy candle fragrance in your car and home during the hottest part of summer - without having to light a candle. The way to do this is called "beanie melts." Put a few in a votive glass in a cup holder in your car - let the heat that comes into your car while you're parked anywhere do the work and melt the wax - then come back to your car, turn on the A/C and watch the wax cool while you drive, but still enjoy that wonderful fragrance that has spread in your home on wheels.

Or get a candle warmer, another votive glass or any kind of tempered glass, and throw a few beanies into that on the candle warmer in your home. The fragrance spreads throughout the house.

You can use just one fragrance (Caribbean Salsa, Florida Grove, Sweet Pea Vanilla, just to name a few...) or mix & match to make your own unique creation (I enjoy Lemon Tree or Tropical Lime mixed with just about any other fruit fragrance - kind of like a Lemonade or Limeade from Sonic).

Beanie Melt Blends

A great "beanie melt blend" idea from my friend Edith: Apple Jack and Maui Mango. She had this blend going at her house the other day and it was really great - it tones down some of the spice of the Apple Jack, but also kicks the Maui Mango up a notch.

A couple of other blends some friends have shared: Juicy Pomelo and Lemon Lime, Vanilla Hazelnut and Cafe Vienna (discontinued, but I still have some in stock).

New Spring/Summer fragrances coming soon

So far we have two new fragrances for spring & summer this year - Clean Cotton and Caribbean Salsa. I do not have a specific description of these yet, but I'm curious to know the difference between Clean Cotton and Fresh Linen, and I'm really curious to find out what exactly Caribbean Salsa smells like! I will definitely let you know as soon as I find out.

All of the spring and summer fragrances from last year have now been poured, including Apricot Honey, Cherry Blossom, Citrus & Currant, Grapefruit Vanilla, Hawaiian Cranberry, Honeydew Melon, Macintosh Peach, Pina Colada, Sage n' Citrus, Star Fruit, Tangelo Tea, and Tangerine Blossom.

We have 10 new warmers that will put us close to a total of 40. We should have something from everyone either in a plug-in, electric base, or light bulb style. This year we've add a new mosaic mirror (001), a light yellow (028) and green (029) electric light pot, a black (030) and a white (031) square light, a mulberry embossed (62) and a cream embossed (63) votive size warmer, and three new heating plate embossed warmers with dish: Sandstone (64), Forest Floor (65), Red Rock (66). Contact me for availability as some of these new ones have not come in yet.

Also, we have added three brand new Willow Tree figurines that were released this year: Je t'amie (I Love You)- a large figurine, Angel Love - a small figurine, and Surrounded by Love - a small figurine.

As soon as I have the new brochures, I will announce it. I'm excited for you to see the new warmers!

Have I mentioned how excited I am about the air fresheners? They're finally here!!!! I have some of all the fragrances listed in the previous post. The Macintosh one is going into my own car tonight!

The packaging is small and lightweight, so these will make great gifts to slide into a card and drop in the mail. Realtors will love to have these for open houses since they're so portable and don't require any electricity to enjoy the fragrance. These will also be great if you're traveling and want to freshen up your hotel room. There are a lot of uses for this great product.

The regular price will be $2.99 each or 5 for $11.95. However, during the month of JULY, they will be $2.00 each. I will be out of town for the first two weeks of July, but don't let that stop you from ordering. I will still be getting email, so I can make note of your order and get it to you as soon as I get back. . I do still have candles, but let me tout the value of beanie melts for a minute here. With the beanie melts, you are paying for what you use. A significant part of the cost of a candle is the glass, so if you're looking for a bargain you will find one in the beanie melts. We have a competitor who sells a similar product in "bars," but their product is roughly 2 ounces making it around $2.50 per ounce. Our beanie melts are 7.5 ounces, making them a little over $1 per ounce - and our fragrances are still better and longer lasting at that great price! Some other positives of beanie melts are that there is no open flame, you don't need to have matches on hand or trim any wicks, and you can change out the fragrance whenever you want to - even mixing and matching to create your own. All you need is a candle warmer and a mug or tempered glass and you're all set. Versatility, value and quality! If you haven't tried the beanie melts yet, now is the time. Air FreshenersWe're excited to announce have made the decision to offer a line of air fresheners (around 15 fragrances) that can be hung in cars, closets, lockers, etc. and should be ready to go by April.

Fall/Winter preview

Orange Cranberry received excellent feedback as one of the best sampled this season and is a wonderful combination of citrus and berry.

Winter Nights mixes soft notes of cedar and wassail and is something different than our traditional fragrances.

Pomander & Holly is a fragrant combination of citrus and holly that will warm your home for the season.

Lastly, Christmas Splendor blends fruity notes with Christmas Spices for a unique holiday candle.

We have a new beautiful autumn colored triple layered candle named Fall Leaves that has Mandarin Cinneberry, Heirloom Spice, and Cranberry Woods in it. The Candy Corn triple layer candle has been changed a little as we replaced Sugar Cookie with Strudel & Spice in the middle layer.

We're also going to bring back Creme Brulee and we'll start pouring all of our traditional fall fragrances such as Harvest Spice, Berries n' Spruce, Pumpkin Spice, Simmering Spice, Bayberry Spice, Cranberry Woods, Cabin Christmas, Mulled Cider, Frosted Pine Boughs, Holiday Memories, White Christmas, and Winter Wonderland.

Ashman Company is coming out with a new, much smaller 1 oz. container of just wax, no wick, to be used as the "sniffer set" so you can experience the fragrances and find out what you like. So I will now be selling off my old sniffer set of 3 oz. candles, with a wick, in a jar with a lid. For the most part I only have one of each fragrance, so get them while they last at $5.00 each. These are great for travel, for gifts, or for just trying out a fragrance in your home in a smaller size.

Fall Preview

On the fragrance front, we have 4 new fragrances that are fantastic and appear to be burning well enough to pass our testing criteria. Orange Cranberry received excellent feedback as one of the best sampled this season and is a wonderful combination of citrus and berry. Winter Nights mixes soft notes of cedar and wassail and is something different than our traditional fragrances. Pomander & Holly is a fragrant combination of citrus and holly that will warm your home for the season. Lastly, Christmas Splendor blends fruity notes with Christmas Spices for a unique holiday candle.
We have a new beautiful autumn colored triple layered candle named Fall Leaves that has Mandarin Cinneberry, Heirloom Spice, and Cranberry Woods in it. Candy Corn has been changed a little as we replaced Sugar Cookie with Strudel & Spice in the middle layer. We're also going to bring back Creme Brulee and we'll start pouring all of our traditional fall fragrances such as Harvest Spice, Berries n' Spruce, Pumpkin Spice, Simmering Spice, Bayberry Spice, Cranberry Woods, Cabin Christmas, Mulled Cider, Frosted Pine Boughs, Holiday Memories, White Christmas, and Winter Wonderland.

Is it too hot for you to want to light a candle right now? Try beanie melts. Break off a few, put them in a mug or glass and place them on a candle warmer. You can control the amount and type of scent, and there is no flame! I'm offering 20% off any beanie melts in stock through July and August.

Summer can get hectic, so not why take a break with a few friends and host a book party at your house? It's less formal than an open house. I bring the "sniffer set" to you with some samples and brochures, you invite a few friends over and just sit around and have some aromatherapy time while you chat and just hang out? I normally offer a 15% credit from all sales to the hostess of a book party. For July and August, I am increasing the credits to you to 25% when you hold a book party!!! Fun for you and some friends, free candles for you.

Note the new sizing options for the candles. The 16 oz. and 10 oz. sizes have been discontinued and there is now simply one large 24 oz. candle and one smaller 12 oz. candle. The smallest 3 oz. candle with the lid is the same as before.

New Fragrances are ready for Spring

The following fragrances are ready to go and I will have "sniffer" sizes available this week for you to check out:

Magnolia Pear is a perfect blend that has a clean crisp aroma.
Macintosh Peach is a fruity mixture of two wonderful fragrances.
Grapefruit Vanilla has the smooth rich vanilla notes with a tart citrus.
Pina Colada captures the essence of being on a tropical beach.
Lemon Lime is a zesty blend that will surely be a favorite.
Summer Sorbet is a variation of Sunflower that continues to be requested.
LoveSpell is a sensual Victoria Secret type fragance.
Tangelo Tea will be poured in the next couple of days and Lavender Lilac will follow.

Our two new triple layered candles, Citrus Splash and Secret Garden are also available as is the our 3 wick Macintosh Peach Aluminum bowl.

In the Specialty candles, all our "Most Sincerely" 9 oz mugs are ready: Teacher(Macintosh Apple), Best Friends(Strawberry Melon), Thanks for being my Mom(Strawberry Melon), Thank you(Strawberry Melon, and Happy Birthday(Chantilly Cream). Also, our new Root Beer Mug is available is a fun addition to our specialty line up.

NewsNotes - March

Welcome to this months edition of the News Notes. Spring is just around the corner and customers are asking what new Spring fragrances are coming. Have we got a surprise for them!

New Fragrances for Spring
This Spring we decided to revamp our product selection and blast out 10 new fragrances! Magnolia Pear is a perfect blend that has a clean crisp aroma. Macintosh Peach is a fruity mixture of two wonderful fragrances. Grapefruit Vanilla has the smooth rich vanilla notes with a tart citrus. Pina Colada captures the essence of being on a tropical beach. Lemon Lime is a zesty blend that will surely be a favorite. Summer Sorbet is a variation of Sunflower that continues to be requested. LoveSpell is a sensual Victoria Secret type fragance. Lavender Lilac combines two great garden fragrances into a perfect floral. Tangelo Tea is a fragrant spicey citrus. Lastly is a fantastic Rootbeer that will surprise you. Never before have we introduced so many new Spring fragrances so now is a great time to generate a lot of party interest.

We are also planning two new triple layered candles; one with floral fragrances and the other with Citrus ones. We're just finishing the test burns and hope to have them this month.
In the Specialty candles, we are adding 5 new 9 oz mugs each with a different theme and Fresh Fruit poured in them; Teacher, Best Friends, Thanks for being my Mom, Thank you, and Happy Birthday. Also, new will be a couple of specialty candles; one being an aluminum bowl with a three wick candle and the other a jar with Strawberry Melon and a silver lid.

New Items
There are several new items for this spring including a yellow, blue and green Petals n' Posies (same style as #76), White Lantern pillar holder #494, Rustic Pillar holder #495, and a 12" black wooden cage pillar holder #496. We have a fantastic new CD entitle Liquid Glass #620 and an assortment of new fragrances for the Cando Breeze.

Spring Catalogs
With all the new items, we are running a little behind on the catalog but hope to have it sometime this month.

We are also revising the fund raising brochure as we have added Beanie Melts that will need to be purchsed in a three pack. The new documents are posted for you on the website.

We are also planning to print a Spring postcard invitation that you'll be able to order later this month.
